Punjab Kings landed the England’ star cricketer in Sam Curran as the Kings agreed to get the service of England All-rounder for 1.85 million pounds. Sam Curran became part of England’s successful T20 World Cup campaign just last year, and won the “player of the tournament” award after garnered an impressive 13 wickets, including three for 12 against the top-tier team Pakistan in the final of the tournament. In the D-day in Kerala, India, the IPL witnessed the greatest and huge auction as many teams like Chennai Super King, Rajasthan Royals, and Punjab Kings vying for the service of England Superstar. Punjab successfully signed Curran to a million-pound lucrative offer. 

“He’s a world-class player. He’d play in any world XI, in any of the top teams, he’s that good. He’s probably one of the best all-rounders in the world, if not the best,” said Ness Wadia, the Punjab Kings team director in an interview after the IPL Auction.

Another England cricketer, Harry Brook, was also able to sign a lucrative seven-figure contract with Sunrisers Hyderabad for 1.3 million pounds. “He’s young, he’s exciting, he loves finishing games off and that’s something that any team would want. Yes, it’s his first IPL but he has played in Asian conditions, he loves Asian conditions, and I believe he’s going to be one of the most valuable players in the future,” said Brian Lara, the Head Coach of Hyderabad Sunrisers.

Ben Stokes, the England Cricket Test team captain also signed a 1.6 million pounds contract for Chennai Super King, where he will be reunited with his compatriots Moeen Ali, another English player to be retained by his new club. England’s opener and wicketkeeper Phil Salt, part of England T20 World Cup Champion, will join Delhi Capitals for £200,000. The Spinner Adil Rashid will also play for Hyderabad Sunrisers for £200,000, joining his captain Ben Stokes. Fast Bowler Reece Topley will represent Royal Challengers Bangalore next season for £190,000. Lastly, Will Jacks was picked up by RCB for £320,000 to join the team this year.
