NBA Odds: Grizzlies spoils Banchero’s 30 points

This is the fifth straight victory for the Memphis Grizzlies as they defeated the young Orlando Magic 123-115. Paolo Banchero, the leader for Rookie of the Year registered his fourth 30-point game with 30 points and 9 rebounds in a losing effort. Catch for other NBA updates here!

The second year forward Ziaire Williams, a Stanford product, provided a productive game coming off the bench with 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting on the floor. While Franz Wagner of Orlando Magic helped Paolo Banchero by contributing 22 points, 19 came in an incredible fourth quarter comeback. 

Memphis led the first half 65-43 with Jackson leading the squad with 13 points and five rebounds. The Super Rookie Paolo Banchero scored 10 straight points at the start of the second half, but All-Star guard Ja Morant answered with his own 11 straight points for the Grizzlies to retain their huge lead.

The third quarter ended with a huge 21-point lead from the Memphis Grizzlies, but the persevered Orlando Magic used the whole fourth quarter on their momentum and tried to comeback. Wagner rallied in the final 12 minutes. Rookie Caleb Houstan sank a three-pointer to cut Grizzlies lead to just six points with less than two minutes remaining. However, Magic center Wendell Carter Jr., fouled out of the game with 1:21 remaining, Morant scored the final three points from the foul line for the Grizzlies to win the game. The Orlando Magic primary center finished with 18 points and seven rebounds.

Markkanen erupted for 49 points to lead Jazz beat Rockets

Lauri Markkanen continued to impress the NBA World with his 49-point performance to lead Utah Jazz clinched a 131-114 victory over the tanking Houston Rockets to end their five-game losing streak.

The Finnish Forward started his hot-shooting early in the first quarter with his quick 18 points to push Jazz for an early lead. However, Houston Rockets, led by second-year player Jalen Green made a mini-comeback in the third quarter to take the lead, but Utah snapped that lead and made a 10-0 run to end the third quarter and go on to rampage the final 12 minutes.

The Filipino shooting guard Jordan Clarkson hit a 3-point dagger to extend the Jazz lead to 117-107. Jalen Green tried to lift Rockets out of misery by adding a basket while Markkanen continued to punish the opponents and scored the next four points to start a 14-0 run that gave Utah Jazz a 131-109 lead. The Rockets scored another five points and finished the game with the final score 131-114.

Lauri Markkanen scored his career-high and added himself to another high-scoring player this season, after an infamous 71-points of Mitchell, 55 points of Giannis, and 60 points triple-double of Luka. On the losing side, Green provided 30 points while Kevin Porter Jr. contributed 23 points. Jabari Smith Jr., had poor shooting scoring only six points.
