NBA All-Star: The Voting Process

The halfway of the 2022-2023 NBA Season is fast-approaching and the indication is the opening of the fan votes for the annual NBA All-Star.

The NBA All-Star 2023 Voting already started last week, December 21 (PST), and will conclude on Sunday, January 22, 2023 (PST), according to the league’s announcement. Here is everything you need to know on how the fan vote will work this All-Star Game.

NBA Fans will once again have the privilege to vote for their favorite players from the Eastern and Western Conference to include in their All-Star starters dream. Each fan can vote once a day via the NBA App or NBA .com —  as the league prohibited the voting via social media platforms to avoid inessential votings. Fans can vote or choose five players which includes three frontcourts and two guards from each conference. The fan vote will contribute 50% of the total votes, while the votes coming from the players and media members will account for 25% each.

The National Basketball Association added a twist to the NBA Voting process, during the regular daily voting, the organization will also include a six days between December 20 and January 21 where a single vote can be counted as three votes. This type of voting called “3-for-1” will take place on December 25, Christmas day and will be followed by another 3-for-1 voting that will take place on January 1, 6, 13, 16, and 20.
