Real Madrid thrashed Elche – as it happened
Los Blancos demolished bottom team Elche as the French international Karim Benzema scored twice in Real Madrid dominating victory.

Elche remained the worst team in the La Liga table with 12 points and only a win in this current 2022-2023 campaign with no clean sheet in all of their 21 games so far. With this recent victory, Madrid cut the gap of the league-leader Barcelona to eight points in the La Liga Standings.
Karim Benzema’s trainer compared Ronaldo’s 2016/2017 to Benzema’s 2022/2023 scoring performance

He is at home, without having anything to do, and he goes down to the gym to train. The Frenchman’s mentality involves improving every day. Even Cristiano could not stand the training that Benzema does.”
Despite that bold claim, Benzema is still needed to catch miles and miles away in order to surpass his former teammate and pal as Real Madrid’s all-time leading scorer, though he is already 35, so this feat might be impossible for him to break.
