Warriors’ Klay Thompson grants dying fan’s wish with FaceTime visit

On Monday, Klay Thompson honored the dying wish of a Warriors fan by FaceTiming with her and her husband, as KTVU’s Frank Somerville posted on Facebook.

Somerville on Friday shared the story of Debbie Wright, a huge Warriors fan who was told she has two-to-six weeks left to live while battling metastatic breast cancer.

The husband of Debbie, Randall Wright, shared her story to Somerville and told him what an avid fan of Klay and the Warriors she is. Her last wish was to meet her favorite Warrior.

“I ask for nothing else … no gifts, money, or anything … just for the possibility of a visit from Mr. Thompson,” the message said to Somerville.

“Debbie was born and raised in the Bay Area and has been a Golden State Warriors fan since the 70’s when she would often watch with her ‘Auntie Pat’.

“Debbie’s all time favorite player is none other than Klay Thompson!”

With the amazing reach of power through social media worked for Debbie and Randall, as Golden State Warriors Sr. Vice President of Communications Raymond Ridder added assistance, and Klay once again was a champion for what matters most, making Wright’s wish come true.

“Greetings, Mr. Somerville! We had our video meeting with Klay this morning! It lasted about 25 minutes. Klay is really a kind and gentle soul. He even introduced his dog Rocko to my Bride!” Randall wrote to Somerville.
