Just like any other title eliminator match, the one between Anthony “Rumble” Johnson and Ryan “Darth” Bader promises to be intense, exciting and fierce. It is one of the major opportunities that should not slip in an aspirant’s hands. Instead, it should be fought with blood and tears.
In focus: Johnson
Johnson lives up to his nickname as Rumble when he tore down Jimi Manuwa in his recent match last year. For a big person like him, throwing out heavy punches can be very destructive and he forces his opponent to be more creative and crafty to make him fall down to his knees. Perhaps, the bitter loss to Daniel Cormier, where he almost had the upper hand, motivated him to put up a better, rather, spectacular comeback.
In focus: Bader
Bader enters this face off with an impressive five-match winning streak. He’s go the striking flair and knack for submissions that he could utilize against Johnson. Yet, as mentioned, he needs to be creative since Johnson’s defense is also a notable one.
All of the last five matches that he won were determined via decisions, so there is a possibility that he might also end this encounter in this manner.
What to expect
Johnson isn’t shy of admiring Bader’s skills on the cage. Certainly, this scenario is indeed, a big challenge against him.
Nevertheless, while it is true that Bader is on a winning streak, this is the first time that he will be fighting Johnson. Apparently, this could work well in Johnson’s advantage, but only if he knows how to exploit the edge that he ha.
The pick: Johnson
