La Liga’s In Focus: Real Betis

Throwback 2014-2015

After quite some time in Segunda Division, Real Betis rallied its way to the top and made a grand return to the top-flight league.

Real Betis’ rise was quite unexpected. They even lingered near the mid-table and occupied the 9th spot. However, their stay in the said rank was short-lived. They continued to improve and snatched more wins. Slowly, but surely, they strengthened their campaign to return to La Liga.

As the squad entered the last phase of the tournament, the club snatched the top spot on their 29th match. They secured a convincing 3-0 win against a strong rival, Las Palmas. The said win propelled them to the top spot and since then they were unbeatable.

Season highlights

One of their biggest victories came when they thrashed Real Valladolid. In the said match, the Beticos fired 4 goals and kept a clean sheet against their opponent. They also thrashed CD Lugo with 5 goals.

As much as possible Real Betis does not want to remember their match against SD Ponferradina. The encounter ended in their 4-1 defeat that almost crushed their confidence.

Scene Stealers

There is no doubt that Ruben Castro is one of Real Betis’ treasured players. Last season, he became the squad’s top scorer. He nailed 95 goals during his stay in the club. This included the 32 goals that he netted and helped the team return to Primera Division.

Ins and Outs

There have been reports linking Dani Ceballos to Arsenal. However, such report still needs confirmation.

Indeed, there is no doubt that Real Betis’ return shall generate interesting odds in bookies such as 12BET.
