Minutes prior the half time mark, Kenny McLean decisively slotted home which gave Aberdeen the upper hand over Hamilton Academical at the SuperSeal Stadium.
The midfielder’s successful strike was owed to his brilliant team-mate Scott Wright who drove ball into McLean’s direction.
Generally, the match turned out slow and dull where both teams struggled to keep possession of the ball throughout the 90-minute gameplay (check the best betting odds on 12BET).
Hamilton barely threatened the home team. And yet Martin Canning’s men continued their campaign with a series of attempts to tuck goals. But the players’ efforts were rapidly blocked by the hosts.
With the win match, McLean expressed his delightedness for leading his team in the game, “Once we went in front, it was all about trying to manage the game,” he said and also noted that, Hamilton’s stunts made them focus even more.
“You have got to credit Hamilton. Their subs were good, wee Steven Boyd was excellent and kept us on our toes all night.”
Meanwhile, manager Canning targets signing two strikers in hopes to bolster the attacking capabilities of his squad.
