Serie A club Napoli has announced the extension of Faouzi Ghoulam’s contract with the club.
Based on the statement of Napoli in their website, the Algerian international defender signed a new deal until June 30, 2022.
“SSC Napoli is delighted to announce that Faouzi Ghoulam has signed a new contract with the club until 30 June 2022.” A statement said
Ghoulam, who joined Partenopei Gli Azzurri in January 2014 from French side Saint-Etienne, has made 153 appearances for the club and scored two goals this year in Serie A.
Prior to the renewal of his agreement, the 26-year-old defender’s contract had been due to expire on June 30 next year and was linked with a move to 2018/19 Premier League season.
According to the reports, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte and Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola have express their strong interest to the Algerian defender.
Meanwhile, Ghoulam is still on the sideline as of the moment because of the cruciate ligament injury that he suffered in a 2-4 loss against Manchester City last November 2 (GMT +8).
