Burnley keeper Tom Heaton could be out for months with shoulder injury

Burnley FC boss Sean Dyche has confirmed that goalkeeper Tom Heaton suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder following 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at Turf Moor.

Meaning, Heaton could be out for months if the result of the scan is a dislocated shoulder knowing that it usually takes time for that injury to fully heal.

“It’s a suspected dislocated shoulder. We’ll have to wait and see. That’s the downside of the day because he’s been fantastic for us. If it is that, it’s obviously not weeks, its months, so we will have to wait and see.” Dyche said

Going back, the 31-year-old keeper landed awkwardly in the 36th minute of the match, won by Chris Wood with his 3rd minute goal, with a collision over Ben Mee.

Heaton was immediately replaced by Nick Pope and made his Premier League debut.

Meanwhile, Dyche assured that the Clarets will take good care of Heaton, who is now at the hospital for a treatment.

“Whatever happens with Tom, we’ll take care of him and it allows the next one in.”
