AC Milan’s rising star, Gianluigi Donnarumma continues to create more buzz as Premier League giants like Manchester United and Chelsea express their interest to secure his services.
Chelsea and United’s interest are pretty understandable. The kid is not your ordinary short-lived hype marketed by those so-called bandwagoners. Donnarumma is pure talent and class.
Just recently, the football prodigy debuted in Italy’s friendly against France. At a tender age of 17, while most of his contemporaries were still training as reserves, his appearance represents risk and at the same time, confidence.
There is risk that a psychological breakdown may destroy him. But at the same time, his participation also speaks of the great amount of confidence that is rendered to the extraordinary things that he could do inside the pitch.
The above-mentioned clubs are aware of the potential and talent that radiates in Donnarumma’s performance and if they had the chance, definitely, they will not let go of it. As a matter of fact, the Red Devils and the Blues are not the only ones, which are serious in luring this teenage star. Real Madrid has also joined the list of his suitors.
And why not? Those who testified in his abilities were not just mere gossipmongers. They plaudits came from the very pillars and institution of excellent goalkeeping.
Gianluigi Buffon, who Donnarumma considers as his mentor believes that he is the real deal. Italy’s well-loved no.1 even described him as the chosen one.
Ex-Milan’s goalkeeper, Dida shared that the lad will surpass him.
And his former Rossoneri manager, Sinisa Mihajlovic , the man who gave him his Milan debut joked that he should have denied Donnaruma the chance. This was after his team, Torino lost to Milan via penalties last week.
Currently, Donnarumma’s deal runs at around £134,000 a year. Yet, with his current performance, this is expected to increase. This early, Milan is already considering a £30M tag price. They are also working on ways to keep him.
But apparently, the above-mentioned value may still go beyond £30M. With the ongoing World Cup qualifier and the actual World Cup competition hanging just around the corner, the young Donnarumma gets all the chances to impress.
