LeBron James led new Cavaliers beat Celtics 121-99

It seems that the NBA trade deals paid off immediately as the newly-look Cleveland Cavaliers hammered the Boston Celtics with a 121-99 victory at the TD Garden.

NBA superstar LeBron James led the team with 24 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds to silence the crowd with an impressive win.

Recently, the Cavs made a splash in the trade deadline day as they acquired George Hill, Rodney Hood, Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. in exchange of Isaiah Thomas, Dwyane Wade, Jae Crowder and Channing Frye.

“It was a good start. It’s almost like the new guys have been here. It started with George and his on-the-ball pressure and him just running the team. And then the three guys came off the bench. Jordan was – he’s ready to score at any time but his composure was great. Rodney plays with so much poise and Larry was just controlling the perimeter, setting great pick-and-rolls. Got him a lob, got him a dunk, so it was a good start for the new guys, a good start for all of us with our revamped team so far.” James stated after the game

As they try to reshape the roster, the newly added players of Cleveland combined 49 points, 13 rebounds and five assists in their first game.

Clarkson had 17 points in his Cavaliers debut. Hood finished 15 points while Hill and Nance Jr. scored 12 and five to help the team extend their game winning streak to three games.

After watching the revamped team played well for 48 minutes, Cavs coach Tyronn Lue called his players phenomenal.

“They were phenomenal. They played hard and they competed, and it was just good to see the team smiling again and having fun.” Lue expressed

On the other end, the Celtics slipped to second place in the Eastern Conference as they suffered their two-game losing streak over the Cavs.

Terry Rozier led Boston with 21 points while Kyrie Irving and Marcus Morris added 18 and 17 points in the defeat.

Up next, Celtics will be hosting the Los Angeles Clippers in their next game and the Cavs will be at Oklahoma City to face the Thunder.
