Kyrie Irving led Boston Celtics edge Nuggets 111-110

Boston Celtics found a way to win the game as they held off the Denver Nuggets, who rallied 20 points down, to win 111-110 at the Pepsi Center.

Thanks to Al Horford’s assist to Jaylen Brown, who nailed a big wide open three-pointer from the left corner with few seconds left in the clock, which helps the struggling Celtics edge the Nuggets.

”I was like, no way I’m missing this one. I was open. Everything that happened before didn’t matter. I had to make the shot.” Brown, who chipped nine points, stated after the game with his three-point shot

All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving led all the scorers with 27 points and six assists to end Nuggets three-game winning streak.

Despite of blowing a big lead, the Celtics hold on in the final period and Jayson Tatum added 20 points while Marcus Morris had 14.

In addition, Horford, who finished the game with 10 points, explained how he saw the play as he drove to the basket and kicked the ball out to Brown. (Sign Up now for more updated news and sports events)

“I just saw Nikola Jokic closing out and I was like, ‘I need to take advantage of this. So I was driving it, and I was going to go finish strong in the paint, and at the last second the guy (Trey Lyles) came and helped and I saw JB in the corner and just made the right play, and he knocked it down.” Horford said as he described his shot fake from beyond the 3-point line that opened up his drive to the basket.

On the other hands, the Nuggets had the chance to win at the buzzer after Irving’s perimeter shot got missed but Will Barton’s three was short and the last tip-in by Torrey Craig was too late, enough for the Celtics to escape with a one-point win.

Jokic had 24 points and 11 rebounds in the game but it was not enough. Trey Lyles has 20 points while Barton ended the match with 19 points.

They are now set to travel and play the San Antonio Spurs while Boston will host the New York Knicks to open a three-game home stand.
