Featherweight fighter Ricardo “The Bully” Lamas has a new opponent for next month’s UFC 214 event in exchange for the injured contender Chan Sung Jung AKA “The Korean Zombie”.
UFC officials announced Jason Knight as Lamas new foe on July 29 at Anaheim’s Honda Center, California.
The 24-year-old Knight had his chance after his recent four-fight win streak that includes two “Performance of the Night” win over Alex Caceres and Chas Skelly at UFC 211 for his 13th career stoppage win.
Knight has 17 wins and 2 losses while Lamas, a former featherweight title challenger who has won two out of his three fights has 17-5 record.
The 30-year-old Lamas is currently at No. 3 in the official UFC rankings while Knight is outside the top 15.
Jung was pulled out from the bout and revealed on his Instagran account that he suffered from a complete tear of his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and medial collateral ligament (MCL).
Both fighters will be on the UFC 214 card headlined by light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones in the main event match.
