Holly Holm beat Bethe Correia at UFC Fight Night 111

Holly Holm (11-3-0) knocked out the former title contender Bethe Correia (10-3-1) in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Fight Night 111 at Indoor Arena, Kellang, Singapore.

Holm finished Brazilian Correia with a brutal head kick and follow-up left hand punch at the 1:09 mark of the third round to break her three fight losing streak.

The 35-year-old MMA fighter heard a lot of boos from the crowd but she nailed the emphatic head kick and caught Correia to the side of the face to earn her emotional win and second head-kick knockout in the UFC.

Going back, Holm won the women’s bantamweight title at UFC 193 in Australia when she knocked out MMA superstar Ronda Rousey in November 14, 2015.

Then it was followed by Valentina Shevchenko via unanimous decision and then lost a close featherweight title bout to Germaine de Randamie at UFC 208 in February.

With the win, the former UFC champion was rewarded Performance of the Night honors with $50,000 for her highlighted-reel KO to Correia.

“I’m going to enjoy this night right now, enjoy the victory tonight. It’s been a year and a half since I was able to do a backflip in here and I was glad to do it in Singapore. I just feel so blessed.” Holm said after her victory
