The last thing that Celta Vigo wants is to lose this match. But so is Valencia. Indeed. This is going to be a down the wire encounter with the possibility of ending in a stalemate.
Match Date: 06 November 2016 (local time)
What happened to Celta Vigo? The team had a strong start this season only to find themselves slowly falling out of the league’s elite.
Just recently, their match against Las Palmas ended in 3-3, which is quite shocking since they just came back from thrashing Deportivo heavily. They have the momentum, but they were unable to use it to their advantage, so there’s quite a problem there.
Many are expecting the team to raise the bar higher. But their record against Valencia is not that impressive. Both teams have their equal share of wins, draws and losses in their last six matches.
Valencia has been inconsistent in their last seven matches. The team continues to find its pace and so far, it has not been successful.
On a closer look, it is evident that the squad could only afford to generate points if they are going against a minnow. Again, a look into their previous matches showed that their last three victories came from games that were pitted against Alaves, Leganes and Sporting Gijon. These three clubs are all struggling to get out of the rock bottom part of the league table.
In their matches against Barcelona and Deportivo, it is evident that the team is having a hard time.
They lost to Barca and Deportivo forced them to settle for a draw.
Nani has been very involved in the squad’s attacking opportunities. He has already delivered four assists, but he has not scored yet. Nevertheless, they can use Nani to make Celta Vigo’s life more difficult.
All odds may change without prior notice.
