San Antonio Spurs wrapped up the game with a thrilling 101-97 victory against Toronto Raptors at home in the AT&T Center.
LaMarcus Aldridge led the team for the third game in a row with 20 points to move up 3-0 in the NBA regular season.
Danny Green added 17 points and eight rebounds while Dejounte Murray recorded his first career regular season double-double with 16 points with 14 rebounds.
”I just want to win. I got that winning in inside and in my DNA. I just do anything to win. If I don’t score a point, I’m going to go rebound. If I don’t rebound, I’m going to try to facilitate or I’m going to try to play defense. That’s the thing that you’ve got to have.” Murray said
Meanwhile, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich was pleased with the win they got against the Raptors despite of the absence of their leading scorer Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker, who are both recovering from quadriceps injury.
”Just an overall good win against a really well-coached, disciplined team that has a lot of expectations,” Popovich stated. “It’s good for our confidence since we’re trying to put some things together.”
For the Raptors, DeMar DeRozan was the leader of his team with 28 points while Serge Ibaka and CJ Miles both added 13 each points.
Moving forward, the Spurs will now begin their four-game road trip starting on Thursday (GMT +8) against the Miami Heat. On the other end, Raptors will now visit the defending champion Golden State Warriors at the Oracle Arena.
