The champs are back. The Golden State Warriors will begin their title defense when they host the visiting Houston Rockets tomorrow, October 18 (GMT +8) at Oracle Arena, Oakland, California. This will be the first of three matchups between the two sides this 2017/18 NBA regular season and the result of this game is anticipated to be a close one.
Both teams have met four times last season. In fact, Golden State prevailed in three of those four contests. Houston earned their only victory in the season series with 132-127 in a double overtime win last December 1st and to sum it up, the Warriors have won three-straight already and 12 of the last 15 meetings against the Rockets.
Golden State Warriors (Money line: 1.20)
Warriors is one of the most talented teams in NBA history with four All-Stars namely, the two-time MVP Stephen Curry, NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant, 2016 Foot Locker3-Point champion Klay Thompson and 2016-17 NBA Defensive Player of the Year Draymond Green. In fact, they have won two of the last three titles in the NBA and they are one of the frontrunners to get it again due to the return of all their key players from last year’s squad.
Houston Rockets (Money line: 4.85)
Rockets made one of the biggest splashes in the offseason by acquiring All-Star point guard Chris Paul from the Los Angeles Clippers and he will join James Harden in the backcourt to ensure the offense of the team to run smoothly when they face the Warriors.

I’m confident that Warriors will take the win in a very close game. It seems that the Rockets need some few more games to figure out the connection of Harden and CP3 on the floor. We know that practice and a couple preseason games won’t determine the chemistry of the players. We are going to see that when the regular season play starts tomorrow.
GSW: Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and Zaza Pachulia.
HOU: Chris Paul, James Harden, Trevor Ariza, Ryan Anderson and Clint Capela.
Line: Golden State Warriors -9; Over/Under: -110 (this odd might change without prior notice)
