The Czech Champion suffered an embarrassing defeat at their home after Bayern Munich blew a valiant performance in the first half. Sadio Mane started the demolition of Viktoria PIzen as he scored a goal in just 10 minutes of the game. It’s a collective effort from Upamecano’s excellent ball control and sends him to Mane. Mane and Goretzka played one-two while running into the box. Mane then slides the ball to the near bottom corner. Bayern 1 – 0 Viktoria!
As the World Cup is almost near, we will release future contents about soccer on tv today this world cup season here!
Leon Goretzka dominates
The main man in this game is not Musiala nor Mane or Sane, and not Muller. It’s Leon Goretzka who scored double in this match and helped Bayern Munich secure the fourth victory of this year’s Champions League.
Thomas Muller scored the second team goal at the 14th minute mark with a beautiful assist from Coman. Coman played an excellent low cross to the edge of the six-yard box through the direction of an open Muller who made just a simple tap. This was a long night for Viktoria PIzen at home!
Goretzka also joined the party as he scored his first goal under the 25th minute mark. Muller found himself locked in the corner as he whipped a good cross to Sane who found Goretzka unchecked. Goretzka had time on his hand as he kicked a curling shot past Stanek at the bottom corner.
He then followed at the 35th minute after Sane’s brilliant series of crosses through PIzen defenders on how to the box. Sane passed it to Goretzka who made a perfect run to have a one-on-one with the goalkeeper and successfully sank his second goal. Bayern 4 – 0 Viktoria!
The halftime ended with Bayern taking advantage of the Czech Champion’s inconsistency and probably lack of experience. Despite the host making a couple of goals in the second half, it was not enough to surprise the German Champion. Now, with Inter – Barcelona 3-3 draw, Bayern Munich seal the spot on the knockout stage of the Champions League. While Viktoria PIzen is at the bottom of Group C standing with four losses and will exit the group stage and the Champions League.
“It’s always nice to win away from home. We’ve got 12 points from four games in the toughest group and we’re into the round of 16,” Julian Nagelsmann told reporters.
“Now we want to top the group. This win gives us the necessary calm ahead of Freiburg on Sunday. That was our goal and we achieved it.”
