Barcelona striker Lionel Messi is widely considered as the best player in football history, and once again displayed this season why he’s being chanted full of praise upon him.
Messi ended this 2019-2020 La Liga season with 25 goals scored for Barcelona, which entitled him winning his seventh Pichichi trophy, along with a league record 21 assists, breaking the record made by former teammate, Xavi Hernandez.
Marking also as the first ever player in La Liga recording 20 goals and 20 assists made from a single season, a milestone that was achieved only by Thierry Henry from this century in any top European league.

From all the achievements made by Messi this season, Barcelona lost the La Liga title to club rivals Real Madrid, and a vote conducted by Spanish publication Marca, Lionel Messi had lost out to Karim Benzema as La Liga’s Best Player for the 2019-2020 season.

Benzema, who scored 21 goals for Real Madrid this season and helped them claim their first league title since 2017, attained 37 percent from the total votes, while Lionel Messi sitting at second place with 31 percent of the votes, and Sergio Ramos at third place with 14 percent of the votes.
