Due to spy threats, Roy Hodgson is forced to change England’s training routine.
Instead of practicing at their assigned stadium, the Three Lions will train at their Chantilly base. They will be walking around the ground where the match will be held on the night before their game in order for them to familiarize themselves with their surroundings.
In this manner, the squad can train secretly. Usually, the media corps is asked to leave the stadium after 15 minutes of training. However, some individuals continue to stay and watch. This readily exposes the squad to compromising scenarios such as giving away details of their strategy.
Hodgson and his staff strongly believe that they were victims of Italy’s football espionage during the 2014 World Cup. They stressed that it is only through spying that their opponent were able to counter their plan, which therefore, resulted to their defeat.
