Portland Trail Blazers delivered an outstanding performance to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder at Moda Center.
Thanks to Damian Lillard, C.J. McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic as they combined 83 points that gave the Portland a 103-99 victory over the struggling Thunder.
Lillard was all over the place as he matched his season high 36 points and dished out a season-high 13 assists to lead his team against the reigning MVP Russell Westbrook and the OKC.
“I go into every game with the same attitude, but when you’re playing against the MVP, you want to embrace that challenge. You know if you don‘t, you’re going to take your lumps. If I don’t step up to that, how is my team going to beat his team?” said Lillard, who were 10 of 18 from the field and 15 of 15 from the foul line.
In addition, Nurkic added 25 with eight rebounds while McCollum scored 22 for the Blazers.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma lost one of their “Big 3”, which is Carmelo Anthony, after being ejected for a flagrant foul 2 in the third quarter following a review by the referee of an and-1 layup he converted over Portland’s Nurkic.
Anthony left the game with 15 points in 23 minutes while Paul George, who finished with 27 points, and Westbrook led the way in their loss with 25 points, including nine assists.
