Ansu Fati has been named as La Liga’s Player of the Month for September.
The 17-year-old has been chosen by La Liga followers and league sponsors, Santander, to receive the award.
Ansu Fati deserves the recognition after boosting Barcelona on its opening of the season scoring 3 goals through its past three fixtures, and becoming the youngest to win the award in the league.

He scored twice from their 4-0 victory against Villarreal that includes winning a penalty, and his third goal was made from their 3-0 win against Celta Vigo.
Ansu Fati was chosen as the player of the month ahead of Celta Vigo’s Iago Aspas, Atletico Madrid’s Luis Suarez, Real Betis’ Sergio Canales, Levante’s Jose Luis Morales, Real Sociedad’s Mikel Merino and Granada’s Luis Milla.
From the club’s history, the youngster is the first Barcelona player other than Messi or Suarez to receive the player of the month award since Neymar in November 2015. If Ansu Fati succeeds defending his title in October, he will become the 12th player to win more than one player of the month awards in La Liga Santander.
