A fierce and tight match is to be expected when Agnieszka “The Professor” Radwanska goes against the resilient Monica Puig in Round 3 of the Australian Open’s Women’s Singles.
Currently ranked No.4 in the world, the tennis court master Radwanska is out to make a grand come back in the tournament. Last year, she made it to Round 4 where she was pitted against Venus Williams, who eventually ousted her in two sets.
Despite her defeat, Radwanska bagged the championship in last year’s WTA. Her encounter against Petra Kvitova ended in 6-2, 4- and 6-3. Likewise, she is also known for her strong presence and performances in Asia-Pacific tournaments.
Radwanska’s upcoming opponent, Puig is currently ranked 52 in the world. Although there is an evident disparity in rank, the Puerto Rican contender manifests high possibilities of forcing an upset.
Puig started strong in Sydney this year. Her participation is one of her strongest performances, not to mention her epic survival of Kristyna Pliskova’s 30 aces. Due to this, it cannot be denied that she is not just a mere pushover in this match.
Puig may indeed, give Radwanska a hard time in the court. However, “the professor’s” experience will eventually tear her apart.
On Radwanska’s side, she cannot afford to be overconfident for Puig might just give her a good scare.
Radwanska to win in two matches.
