Old Trafford Down

The Red Devils of Old Trafford continued to suffer as they have recorded the worst record this season. Manchester United under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have won just 17 points in 16 Premier League games which is the fourth-worst for the team. They are currently three-games without a win, losing to two 2 including their last match against Newcastle 1-0 and drawing 1 against Arsenal 1-1.

With only 9 points earned by winning only 2 out of 8 games into the campaign and 12th in the table so far, Manchester United have made their worst start to a Premier League season since 1989-90. Solskjaer is feared of being sacked after the poor performance.

The Red Devils will be back in Old Trafford to face the current leaders on the league table Liverpool after the international break.

Lloris sidelined until 2020

Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will miss the rest of 2019 games due to an elbow injury according to France head coach Didier Deschamps and as confirmed by Tottenham. The France international suffered the injury after he fell into his own goal during Tottenham’s 3-0 defeat at Brighton. He was stretched off screaming in pain as he left the field.

“I talked to him after he recovered emotionally from what happened,” Deschamps told a news conference “Anyway, as far as we are concerned, he will obviously not be able to play during this international break or the next one.” Lloris will miss France’s Euro 2020 qualifiers this month against Iceland and Turkey.

“Hugo Lloris has undergone further assessment this morning after sustaining a dislocated elbow in our match against Brighton on Saturday. The findings have shown that although surgery will not be required, our Club Captain has suffered ligament damage and is not expected to return to training before the end of 2019,” Tottenham Hotspur confirmed in a statement posted on their official website.

Deschamps said that this loss will affect France team and so as the club’s. “His absence is difficult to quantify, he is very important, dominating, given his status,” said Deschamps. “It encompasses everything. It’s a loss for us even if it is the first injury he has had in his career.”

Martinelli on International scene away from Brazil

The Arsenal youngster displayed an exceptional performance last match in Europa League as he become the youngest player to net 2 goals in a major European game for Arsenal, scoring twice that helped the team bagged the win against Standard Liege 4-0. Following the stellar performance, the Brazilian teen was offered a huge exposure in international scene playing with Italy’s side.

Earlier this week, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) contacted Martinelli to try to convince him to reject Brazil and commit his future to Italian national team. “In the case of Martinelli, it is not so easy. You have to submit a request and it may take a long time. It is a long wait for these players who have a double passport.” Italy’s boss Roberto Mancini said.

At 18, Martinelli hasn’t make an appearance in Brazil national team as Roberto Firmino, Gabriel Jesus, Lucas Moura, Neymar, Vinicius Junior and Douglas Costa and are among the attacking options of the team.
